These type of sites typically cost slightly more due to the complexity of the programming. They require a database to store the products and the facility to process payments online through a payment provider service like Protx, Paypal or Google Checkout. If you dont want to use Paypal or Google Checkout then you will be required to setup an Internet merchant account for this type of website, to ensure the money gets paid directly into your bank account
